Dinan is ideally situated in the heart of Brittany. It is 30 km from the walled city and port of St Malo also the popular seaside town of Dinard with its Casino and other attractions. The beautiful Cotes d’Armor beaches and the Pink Granite coast are a short drive away for bracing walks along the clifftops or a day of lounging on the beautiful sandy beaches. Or you could explore the lovely Rance Valley or go to the many nearby Chateaux. There are golf courses, water parks and zoos within easy driving distance. There is information about these places at the house. There is also the Tourist Information Office in town. Just 50 km from the town is the wonderful Mont St. Michael. This is home to the magnificent Benedictine Abbey and steepled church built between the 11th and 16th centuries. The Abbey occupies most of the one km diameter clump of rocks jutting into the English Channel. It was originally a tidal island but now has a concrete causeway for continuous assess. It is the third most visited site in France after the Eiffel Tower and the Chateau de Versailles.
